【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군은 16일 청주산림조합 회의실에서 열린 제1회 충청북도 산림환경대상 시상식에서 이재영 군수가 자치부분 대상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

충청북도 산림환경대상은 산림의 환경기능을 향상하는데 힘쓴 공로자 또는 단체에게 수여하는 상으로, (사)산림환경포럼이 주최하고 산림청, (사)한국산림환경보호협회, 한국산림보안관연맹, (사)한국임우회, 등이 후원하는 산림분야 최고의 상이다.​

이재영 군수는 정주여건 향상을 위한 산림휴양 공간 조성과 미세먼지 저감을 위한 도시 바람길 숲 조성 등 군의 산림환경기능을 한 단계 끌어올린 공을 인정받아 이번 상을 수상하게 됐다.

평소 산림환경분야에 각별한 관심을 가지고 있는 것으로 알려진 이 군수는 특히 올여름 집중호우 피해를 입은 군의 특별재난지역 지정에 힘써 산림자원 보전을 위한 재원확보에도 큰 성과를 보였다.

또한 서쪽 지역을 제외한 모든 곳이 산으로 둘러싸여 있어 미세먼지 농도가 높을 수 밖에 없는 증평지역 특성을 파악해 지역 내 24곳 23.9ha에 대기 순환 개선을 위한 도시 바람길 숲 조성도 지속적으로 추진하면서 미세먼지 저감으로 녹색도시 조성에도 앞장서고 있다.
