【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군의회(의장 박한범)는 13일 박한범 의장 진행으로 ‘옥천군 가족센터 이용자’와의 정책간담회를 옥천군의회 간담회실에서 개최했다.

이번 간담회는 다문화가족 관련 현안과 의견을 직접 듣고 결혼이주여성들의 지역사회 참여 확대와 외국인 계절노동자 운영 방안 개선에 대해 논의하고자 마련되었다. 

이날 다문화가족 8명과 곽상혁 경제과장, 이응주 복지정책과장, 조도연 농업정책과장 등 관련 공무원이 참석하여 다문화가족 및 외국인 계절 노동자와 관련된 옥천군의 추진 사업에 대해 다양한 의견을 듣고 질의 응답하는 시간을 가졌다.

간담회에서는 외국인 계절근로자 신청 절차상의 문제점을 제기하며 제도 개선이 필요하다는 의견과 결혼 이주 여성들이 민원실 통번역사,  행정업무보조, 아이 돌봄과 같은 공공영역의 일자리에서 일할 수 있게 해달라는 의견이 주를 이뤘다. 

한편, 지난 8월 의회에서 개최된 ‘이주여성 지원방안 모색 간담회’에서는 이날 수렴된 의견 중 이주여성 고국방문사업 지원 대상자를 확대해달라는 요구가 반영되는 등 작지 않은 성과가 있었다. 

박한범 의장은 “다문화가족들이 옥천군민의 일원으로서 다양성을 존중받고 함께 성장할 수 있도록 실효성 있는 제도를 만드는데 당사자들의 목소리를 반영하고자 적극 노력하고 있다”며 “이번 간담회에서 제안된 의견들을 다방면으로 검토해 다문화가족들의 안정적인 정착과 경제주체로서 활동 지원을 위한 여건 마련을 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
